NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Quick action by the home owner and firefighters saved a Nicholasville home from major fire damage Monday evening after it was struck by lightening.
According to the Nicholasville Fire Department, the owner was at home when the house in the Paddock neighborhood was struck by lightening. The owner smelled smoke and called 911, the Nicholasville Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
Jessamine County, Nicholasville Fire and EMS crews responded and discovered moderate smoke in the subfloor of the home which extended into the first floor, according to the Nicholasville Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to put out the source and prevent major damage.
