LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three garages, seven cars, and one home have been affected by an early morning fire Tuesday in downtown Lexington.
Battalion Chief Jordan Saas says it started about 4 a.m. in the 100 block of N. Hanover Avenue.
When crews arrived, they say heavy smoke and flames coming from a detached garage. Saas says firefighters quickly realized two other detached garages were also involved. He says at least one of those is associated with a house on Mentelle Park.
Saas says one of the homes sustained “radiant heat damage.”
Crews are still working to figure out what caused the fire. The family told WTVQ they believe a hoverboard on the charger may have been to blame.
