FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The state has expanded eligibility for temporary total disability workman’s comp benefits to include large groups whose jobs expose them to the coronavirus and may force them to be quarantined even if they don’t have the disease.
Gov. Andy Beshear and his chief of staff, Latasha Butler, announced the groups during the governor’s briefing Thursday.
It is a significant expansion for the groups.
First responders and health care workers already were eligible but the new rules include grocery workers, postal workers, child care workers, social workers, corrections officers and jailers, and workers and domestic violence related centers, among others.
