See Easter egg decorations by car during Lex Egg Hunt 2020

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – If you’re looking for an Easter activity you can do with the family this weekend, Little LEXplorers is putting on the Lex Egg Hunt 2020.

Jessica Gilmore Elkins, one of the co-organizers, said they came up with the idea to give families something fun to do that’s also in line with Governor Andy Beshear’s ban on in-person gatherings.

“My kids, just like many others, really enjoy the in-person egg hunts,” said Elkins.

But because of COVID-19, Elkins said they came up with an idea that allows for social distancing where people can drive by and see the egg decorations from their own vehicles.

“We made a really short coloring book that can be printed,” said Elkins.

Elkins says the pages can be printed out from their Facebook event page. You can then color it and tape it up on your windows or doors.

The page also contains a link to a map of places participating. If you’re interested in adding your home or business, you can fill out a Google form with your address.

If you don’t want to print out the coloring pages, Elkins says you can get creative and use whatever decorations you’d like.

Elkins said as of Thursday morning, they had over 500 downloads which does not include people making their own egg decorations.

The event is going on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, click HERE.
