FRANKFORT, Ky. (State-Journal/WTVQ) – Fankfort investigators don’t expect foul play in a fire that killed an 86-year-old woman Monday afternoon, according to the State-Journal newspaper.
According to Franklin County Coroner Will Harrod, Johnette Monie died in the blaze that was reported just after 4 p.m. on Douglas Avenue, according to the newspaper.
Fire Chief Wayne Briscoe said flames already were coming from the windows and front door when firefighters arrived and the home suffered extensive damage. Firefighters spent three hours on the scene, much of that as part of the investigation with the state fire marshal’s office, the newspaper reported.
Briscoe said he believed Monie lived alone, and no one else was in the home.
