LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The flooding in southeastern Kentucky the past two weeks have been heartbreaking.
Heritage Baptist Church in Lexington saw the need and wants to do its part to bring relief.
The church collected donations all week.
“We know people are sending prayers. We know people are sending good thoughts but what we’re asking is along with those prayers and thoughts, if you want to donate a rake or shovel, we’ll take it up there for you,” said Greg Waltermire, Pastor.
Pastor Greg Waltermire says they’ve received all types of donations from food, clothes, and water. He says they really need cleaning supplies.
“There’s going to be a tremendous amount of cleanup,”said Waltermire.
Waltermire says the last day to drop off donations will be on Saturday from 9 a.m – noon.
Then they’ll leave and drop off items in Harlan, Bell, and Whitley counties.
