LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The City of Lexington says there will be changes to its collection schedule for the upcoming Presidents’ Day holiday.
Lexington’s Division of Waste Management says no collections will be made during the holiday on Monday, February 17.
Officials say residents and businesses who normally receive curbside pick-up on Mondays will instead be serviced on Wednesday, February 19. They say residents should put their carts out after 4 p.m. on Tuesday to ensure Wednesday collection. Curbside collection is only being changed for carts normally serviced on Mondays.
According to officials, businesses with dumpsters (landfill-bound and recycling) normally serviced by the city on Mondays will have their units picked up on Tuesday, February 18. They say businesses with dumpsters normally serviced on Tuesdays will have their units picked up on Wednesday, February 19. Thursday and Friday pick-ups will be made as usual.
City officials say Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government offices, as well as the Lexington Recycling Center, Electronic Recycling Center and the Haley Pike Composting Facility will be closed on the holiday. The Recycling Center, the Electronics Recycling Center and the Haley Pike Waste Management Facility will also be closed on Saturday, February 15.
