LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Sayre School in Lexington is named in a lawsuit over a crash that killed two teenagers last year.
Lexington Police say 17-year-old Neo Sanders and 15-year-old Roan Sanders died in February of 2019 after the car they were in hit a tree along Harrodsburg Road.
The driver, Bobby Puckett, is accused of driving drunk.
Neo Sanders’ father, Mark Williams, claims Puckett drank rum from a bottle Neo was allowed to bring home from a school-sponsored trip to Cuba.
The lawsuit also claims Neo and Roan’s mother, Heather Sanders, allowed them to drink the alcohol with Puckett at her home before the fatal crash. According to the lawsuit, Heather Sanders was not supposed to have unsupervised visits with Neo and Roan.
The school, Heather Sanders and her father, Ronald Sanders, as well as Bobby Puckett’s father, Adrian Puckett, are all named in the lawsuit.
