LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The city of Lexington worked hard overnight to make sure you stay safe during your commute today.
Salt trucks are still working to clear the roads.
Road crews were out all night treating and plowing streets as needed, as well as responding to any calls for slick spots.
The city of Lexington wants to remind drivers that some roadways could be slick throughout the day so drivers should use caution, reduce speed and leave extra space between cars.
They also want to warn drivers about being careful on bridges and overpasses because they are the first to get slick.
The office of homelessness prevention & intervention’s emergency winter weather plan remains in effect through this Saturday.
That plan includes expanded shelter services and free transportation to shelters.
