LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Health officials say the number of flu cases are on the rise in Lexington.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department says there are 303 confirmed flu cases, up 39 from last week.
Health officials say there have been two flu-related deaths in Lexington so far this flu season.
Officials say 80-percent of the cases has not received a flu shot. They say a flu shot is the best way to fight the flu and is especially important for senior adults, young children and anyone with other medical risks.
Flu shots are available at 650 Newtown Pike without appointment from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday and 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Anyone with questions should call (859) 288-2483.
