LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Health officials say another person has died in Lexington from complications of the flu.
On Wednesday, the Lexington Fayette-County Health Department confirmed the second flu-related death of the season.
The health department says the person was older than 50 and had underlying health issues. The first person in the city to die this season of the flu was also over 50 and had underlying health issues, according to the department.
A seasonal flu shot is the best way to fight the flu and the shot is especially important for senior adults, young children and anyone with other medical risks.
