Oh Deer! Lexington officer helps pull deer from pool

You never know what a day on patrol will bring! On Monday morning, Officer Flannery responded to a home in a rural part of Fayette County where a deer had become trapped in a swimming pool. The temperature was around 18 degrees. Animal Care & Control and the Fire Department were also dispatched, but Officer Flannery was first to arrive. With help from the homeowner, the deer was safely lifted out of the pool and appeared to be okay.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A deer found itself in need of some help Monday after becoming trapped in the swimming pool of a Lexington home.

The homeowner discovered the deer struggling in the pool and called Animal Care & Control, the Lexington Fire Department and the Lexington Police Department.

The Lexington Police Department says Officer Chris Flannery was the first to arrive and helped the homeowner pull the deer from the pool.

The department posted the rescue that was caught on Flannery’s body camera.
