GLASGOW, Ky. (AP) – A commercial printing company that is one of the largest employers in a Kentucky county has announced it will close three plants this year.

News outlets report that LSC Communications Inc. confirmed on Tuesday that among its closures is a plant in Glasgow that was operated as RR Donnelley until 2016. Statistics show that it currently employs about 600 people.

Barren County’s Economic Authority Executive Director said officials will try to help displaced workers find new opportunities ahead of the plant’s closure this summer.

LSC said the closures come as part of an effort to significantly reduce costs as printing industry trends change.
