Teenager accused of shooting at a home not once, but twice

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A teenager is in custody after officers say he shot at a house multiple times because he thought he had been robbed by one of the people inside.

The Lexington Police Department says a call came in about a shooting at the home on the 700-block of Heartsbrook Lane on December 21.

When they arrived, officers say they found gunfire damage outside and inside the home.

A woman living there told officers she and her youngest son were inside the home during the shooting, but were not injured.

About 45 minutes later, officer say they got another call about a shooting in the same area. They returned to the home and found additional gunfire damage that wasn’t there after the first shooting.

Authorities say the woman told them she left the home with her son after the first shooting. The woman also told them her oldest son thought his friend, 18-year-old Aiden Carter, was responsible for the shootings.

She told officers Carter threatened her son because Carter believed he robbed him.

In several messages, police say Carter made threats about “spraying” the house continuously until he got his money.

Carter is charged with wanton endangerment.
