KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman is in custody after deputies say she was under the influence of methamphetamine while her children were home with her in Knox County.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call on January 2 around 1:00 a.m. about a woman who reportedly overdosed at a residence on Arkle Road in Gray.
After entering the building, officials say a deputy tried to get 39-year-old Lori Havelka, of Gray, to come down from the loft with her two children, but she refused.
Investigators say the deputy was able to get Havelka out of the loft, but she then began violently grabbing, kicking and hitting him as she was being put under arrest.
According to detectives, Havelka was under the influence of methamphetamine.
She is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and assault, according to officials.
