HICKORY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Dozens of stolen traffic signs were seized from a business in Graves County, according to Kentucky State Police.
The Kentucky Department of Transportation says it it received a tip that some state road signs were being sold at a local shop in the county.
State Police say the the business owner told them he was unaware the signs had been stolen and is cooperating with investigators.
Investigators say 89 road signs were seized. They say property numbers showed they belonged to the Kentucky Department of Transportation, Paducah Public Works and the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
KSP reminds the public it is illegal to remove or deface signs that are purchased with taxpayer dollars.
