LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Legends organization is the sole-recipient of a prestigious award for its long-term business success.
The team received the Bob Freitas Award, given to teams with consistent operational excellence that contribute to the community.
The Legends continued their Stache Tank Program this year, which gives students business experience by having them come up with a promotional idea, receive a budget and execute the project at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Fans were able to see their hard work pay off throughout the season with items such as fruit infusion water bottles, bacon wrapped chicken nuggets and pretzel crusted cheese curds at the concession stands.
The Legends also support local youth softball and baseball teams through the Legendary Leagues program. The organization supported 16 different leagues in the past year by giving money for uniforms, field improvements and other needs.
