Repeat offender sentenced to 20-plus years for dealing fentanyl

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Danville man with seven prior felony convictions was sentenced to 23-and-a-half years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl, according to prosecutors.

32-year-old Lamar Ford was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty last March.

Ford admitted he trafficked 15 grams of fentanyl and police seized 56.7 grams of the substance from his home and car, according to prosecutors.

Because of Ford’s lengthy criminal past, he qualified as a “Career Offender” under federal law.
