LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Central Kentucky’s only cat-specific veterinary hospital is collecting donations this holiday season to try to satisfy a lengthy list.
The Lexington Hospital for Cats says it needs cat food, supplies for the Lexington Humane Society and monetary donations for vet bills.
The hospital says the donations are tax-deductible and allow it to take care of service cats, cats of disabled military veterans, neglected and abandoned cats and cats impacted by local disasters.
According to the hospital, a small portion of each donation goes to the Greatest Need Fund, which is used to provide veterinary care to animals harmed by major disasters across the country.
Over the past 12 years, the Lexington hospital ‘angel cat tree’ has collected over $18,000 in donations.
To donate, go to the cat hospital located at 271 Southland Drive, pick out an ornament and find the item request on the back. After the item is purchased, return it and place it under the angel cat tree.
Donations will be collected December 2 through January 3.
