FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Office of the Secretary of State warns Kentucky businesses of a scam targeting them.
The office says scammers are posing as “Kentucky Certificate Services” and are calling businesses, especially newly-formed, about a “Certificate of Status”.
Officials say this is not sent or authorized by the Office of the Secretary of State. They say businesses should not respond and contact the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General if they receive a notice.
The office says businesses can purchase a Certificate of Existence, if needed, by submitting a request here, which requires a $10 fee.
