LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington man pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to two separate carjackings earlier this year, according to prosecutors.
28-year old Jody Shipman admitted he approached a woman at her apartment in January of this year, demanded her vehicle, phone and wallet and threatened her with force, according to prosecutors.
Shipman also admitted to approaching a second woman at St. Joseph Hospital in February of this year, forcing her inside her vehicle and driving her to an ATM to withdraw money from her account, according to prosecutors.
Shipman faces up to 15-years in federal prison and a maximum fine of $250,000, according to prosecutors.
He is scheduled to be sentenced February 21, 2020.
