Lexington man pleads guilty to armed drug trafficking

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An ex-con pleaded guilty Wednesday to armed drug trafficking with a stolen gun, according to federal prosecutors.

29-year old Rakim Moberly, of Lexington, admitted to trafficking fentanyl while carrying a stolen gun, which was illegal on two fronts since he was already a convicted felon, according to prosecutors.

He was convicted in Lexington in 2016 of robbery, wanton endangerment and criminal mischief, according to court records.

Police say Moberly had drugs on him when he was arrested in his most recent case.

He faces up to 35-years in prison and a $1.5 million fine, according to prosecutors.



He’s scheduled to be sentenced February 28, 2020.
