LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Contemporary Antisemitism is an exhibit on display showing examples of hate towards Jewish people in Kentucky and across the country.
UK’s Chabad Jewish Student Center said the event is in light of the one year anniversary of the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue that killed 11 people.
Rabbi Shlomo Litvin said often people who have antisemitic ways have never even met a Jewish person.
“To say what a jew looks like, what a jew doesn’t, it comes from a place of ignorance where all hate starts. So, jews, like your neighbors, are your community,” Litvin said.
He also said he hopes people will stop acting hateful, not against Jewish people, but against anyone.
The exhibit is at the Singletary Center for the Arts 7-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
