LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Christmas came early for a woman in Fayette Mall in Lexington tonight as Santa and Mrs. Claus kicked-off the holiday season.
Families are getting into the Christmas Spirit with Santa Claus but Christmas is 47 days away, so the question is, do you think it’s too early to start celebrating?
It’s not too early for Ashley Hogan and Zach Taylor, they say as soon as Halloween is over the Christmas tree goes up and the kids start their Christmas lists.
“We’re here to celebrate and let the kids see Santa for the first time this year,” Hogan said.
What Ashley didn’t know was Christmas was coming early this year, in the form of a proposal and diamond ring, right in front of Santa she said, “yes.”
Another couple said it is never too early to start getting into the Christmas spirit.
“25 days just isn’t enough time for the magic, pretty much as soon as the candy’s gone from Halloween they’re like “where’s Santa?” like what’s Thanksgiving? Kids don’t care about food,” Katie Walker said.
Although they’re not enjoying the return of cold weather, these families are enjoying the return of the holiday season, for them, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
