City of Lexington activating its emergency winter plan

Boyle County Emergency Management said it will activate a shelter Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. through Thursday morning at 8 a.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The city of Lexington is responding to the cold weather by activating its emergency winter plan.

The city says the plan goes into effect Thursday night and will remain in effect through Saturday.

It’s activated anytime the temperature is expected to fall below 32 degrees.

People experiencing homelessness in Lexington have warm, secure shelter.

The plan includes expanded shelter services and free transportation to shelters.
