LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The race for Governor is not only being followed closely in the state of Kentucky but also nationally.
Incumbent Governor Matt Bevin is locked in a tight race with Attorney General Andy Beshear.
If he is re-elected Bevin would become the first republican governor ever for a second term in the state which has been allowed in Kentucky since 1992.
Also challenging Bevin is libertarian John Hicks.
Bevin is hoping his ties with President Donald Trump who is highly popular in Kentucky will help him stay in office for another term.
President Trump visited Kentucky Monday to rally for Matt Bevin for his 2020 presidential election bid.
