LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — There was a special homecoming parade at Kentucky Children’s Hospital Tuesday.
The University of Kentucky football players held the parade this morning for young patients at the hospital.
Teammates surprised the kids with games and prizes.
Players say they hope their visit makes a difference for the young patients receiving treatment there.
“To bring some joy to kids that are here in the hospital who are maybe going through a tough time. Maybe they’re really worried about what’s happening to them. And maybe to get their mind off of that today and that’s what we’re trying to do today. Play some games with the kids and hopefully brighten their day up a little bit,” says UK football offensive tackle, Luke Fortner.
Tuesday’s parade at the hospital is just one of the many activities scheduled as part of UK’s homecoming week.
