ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Estill County Animal Shelter says it’s over capacity and may be forced to do something it hasn’t had to do since 2015 – put several animals down.
The shelter director says dogs and cats are being dropped off almost daily and the shelter does not have any more room. He says if adoptions don’t pick up this week, the shelter will have to start euthanizing animals, possibly as early as Saturday, October 5.
If you are interested in adopting a dog or cat, call the shelter at (606) 723-3587. The shelter is open M-F 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. To check out some of the animals available for adoption, click here .
