Burn ban issued in Franklin County

Burn Ban

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Franklin County Judge/Executive Huston Wells has issued a Burn Ban in Franklin County on the advice of Fire Chief Kevin Hutcherson.

According to the county, the burn ban covers:

- Advertisement -

-fires set for recreational or ceremonial purposes

-fires set for the purpose of weed abatement and pest prevention

-fires set for the purpose of bona fide instruction and training of public and industrial employees in the methods of fighting fires

-fires set for recognized agricultural, silvicultural, range, and wildfire management practices

-fires set for disposal of natural growth for land clearing, and trees and limbs felled by storms.

According to firefighters, outdoor smokers and grills aren’t included in the ban, but they encourage you not to use them.
