MOREHEAD, Ky. (THE MOREHEAD NEWS/WTVQ) – The mother of a 9-year old boy who died after being swept away by flood waters last year is suing the City of Morehead and its housing authority, according to a report in The Morehead News.

Bryce Kolton Wade Combs died when he was swept into a sewer drain in September 2018 following heavy rains, according to investigators.

The wrongful death lawsuit claims the boy died due to negligence and an improperly designed storm drain structure, according to the newspaper report.

The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages, attorney fees and costs and a jury trial, according to the report.

There was no immediate comment from the City of Morehead, according to the report.
