KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people were arrested after a young boy was spotted wandering around outside a Knox County home late Monday night, according to deputies.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says deputies went to the home on Highway 11 in Woolum around 9:30 p.m. for a welfare check on the child. When they got there, deputies say they found 33-year-old Bridget Nicole Doolin passed out on the kitchen floor and 53-year-old Ray Mills, Jr. asleep on the couch, completely covered with a blanket.

Mills’ two children also lived in the home – a 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. Neither adult knew where the children were, according to deputies.

The boy was eventually found with a neighbor and the girl was with a friend of the family.

Doolin and Mills were both arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

The children were placed in the custody of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
