Cold front brings an end to the August heat and much needed rain

Overview: We are finally getting a break from the big August heat that has taken hold of central and eastern Kentucky for much of the month. The added bonus will be some beneficial rain thanks to a slow-moving and powerful cold front moves its way across the region today and with that cooler temperatures. Before the frontal boundary arrives expect muggy conditions; however, afterwards dry air will filter in. Rain showers will be possible throughout the day today some heavy a times.

TODAY: Mostly cloudy skies with rain showers likely some heavy a time with highs in the upper 70s low 80s.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear skies with cool conditions, expect a low in upper 50s low 60s.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny with temperatures below average, with highs in the mid 80s.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny with temperatures below average and maybe a very isolated shower with highs in mid 80s.



MONDAY: Partly cloudy skies and showers and storms likely in the afternoon and evening hours with highs in the lower 80s.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy skies with widely scattered showers and storm possible with highs in the lower 80s.
