LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington fire station is celebrating its official opening with a ribbon cutting Tuesday.
The station began runs earlier this month but held an official ceremony Tuesday morning.
Mayor Linda Gorton and city officials joined Fire Chief Kristin Chilton to officially open Fire Station 24 which is located on 2754 Magnolia Springs Drive.
The fire department says it’s excited to be a part of Masterson Station, and expanding their fleet into one of Lexington’s largest neighborhood.
Before, the closest stations to the area were at Georgetown and Leestown Roads.
