BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Investigators say a man wanted for a murder in Boyd County is now behind bars in Ohio.
The Ashland Police Department says officers were called about a shooting at a home at 3217 Central Avenue Tuesday night. Officers arrived and found 30-year-old Lawrence McCoy suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died a short time later, according to police.
Investigators say it was determined 47-year-old James L. Reed, of Ironton, Ohio, shot McCoy. Reed was tracked down to a home in Ironton Wednesday and was arrested.
There is no word on when Reed could be extradited back to Kentucky.
