BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A massive fire damaged a home in Boyle County late Sunday night.
It happened at 9 p.m. on Greenview Drive and U.S. Hwy 150 West near mile marker 6, according to Danville Emergency Management officials.
Officials say when they arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames with smoke visible from the highway.
They say two people were inside the home but made it out safely with no injuries.
Danville Emergency Management official Mike Wilder says Boyle County Fire crews were assisted by Mercer County Fire who used ten tankers of water to put the fire out.
Wilder says there’s extensive damage to almost every part of the home.
According to Wilder, he’s surprised that the home was still in one piece when crews arrived.
” Amazingly there’s still part of the house standing,” said Wilder. ” Because at one time there was fire all over everything.”
Officials say both lanes on U.S. Hwy 150 West in Boyle County were shutdown for several hours but are now back open.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
