UPDATE: Teen charged after video surfaces of dog being beaten

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old is charged with cruelty to animals and torture of a dog or cat after being caught on video punching a dog.

That dog was later found dead, with numerous stab wounds to its body, according to the sheriff.

The teen was taken to a juvenile facility in Breathitt County.

An adult is still being questioned in the case.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A video circulating on social media has two people in custody in Laurel County.

The video shows a person punching a dog in the face with his fist and the dog yelping.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, the dog was later found dead. Deputies collected the animal’s remains.

The sheriff says one adult and one juvenile have been detained in connection to the animal cruelty case.
