CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Clay County woman is facing charges after authorities say an 11-year-old boy suffered serious burns while staying over at her home.
According to the arrest citation for 42-year-old Angela Guth, she did not seek medical attention for the child after her son poured scalding water on him Wednesday night.
The Herald-Leader newspaper says Billy Oliver was sleeping when he had hot water poured on him and, as a result, suffered second and third degree burns.
The newspaper says it was prank known as the “Hot Water Challenge” where people are doused with hot water.
An arrest warrant was issued for Guth, who was charged with wanton endangerment and criminal abuse.
She turned herself into the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on Friday and is currently in the Clay County Detention Center.
