Manchester City Police arrest man after ATV chase


MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ)- Manchester City Police say they arrested a man Monday after an ATV chase.

The department says an officer saw a man and woman on an ATV turning off of South Highway 421, onto South Highway 11 around 3:30 a.m.

The officer says he put on his lights and sirens, but the man, Charles Asher from East Bernstadt, kept on driving.

Finally, on Tolby Hollow Road, officer say the man stopped the ATV and ran.

Police searched for a short while, but found the man hiding over an embankment.

He was taken to Advent Health Manchester and then booked into jail.

Asher is charged with Operating ATV on roadway, Fleeing or evading police -2nd Degree, Wanton Endangerment -2nd Degree, and Reckless Driving.

The deputy arrested the woman involved, Tabitha Smallwood, for Public Intoxication.
