Woman arrested after foot chase in the woods; charged with burglary

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman was arrested after a police foot chase through the woods after a home was broken into in Whitley County, according to deputies.

Investigators say a homeowner returned home late Monday off Highway 92 East, to find a broken window and an open garage door.  The homeowner immediately called for help.

Deputy Jason Strunk says when he arrived on the scene, he heard movement in the surrounding woods, spotted a woman and gave chase.

Deputy Strunk says he caught and arrested 37-year old Jessica Saylor, of Barbourville.

She was taken to jail in Whitley County and charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking (Firearm) and Fleeing and Evading Police on Foot, according to investigators.
