TOTZ, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was arrested on the evening of July 4th, accused of shooting his brother during an argument the day before in Harlan County, according to State Police.
Investigators say they pulled a man over on U.S. 119 near the Dione community in Harlan County on Wednesday and discovered he had been shot in the leg.
KSP says 63-year old Murphy Smith, of Cumberland, was taken to Harlan ARH and later transferred to U.K. Hospital in Lexington for treatment of his gunshot wound.
The next night, Smith’s brother, Walter Smith, was found in Harlan County and arrested on an assault charge for allegedly shooting his brother.
Walter Smith was taken to the Harlan County Detention Center.
