MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 19-year-old is dead after drowning at Cave Run Lake on Thursday.
According to the Rowan County Coroner’s Office, the man was swimming at the beach at the Twin Knobs Campground around 1:15 p.m. when he went under the water.
A Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officer was in the area and pulled the teenager from the water with the help of others at the beach.
The coroner says CPR was performed on the victim, who was then taken to the hospital.
He was later pronounced dead.
The coroner says the drowning was an accident.
The name of the man has not been released, pending notification of his family.
