LOUISVILLE (WTVQ) – Andy Beshear, the Democratic nominee for governor of Kentucky, on Tuesday released his plan to help veterans looking for jobs.
Beshear, the current Kentucky attorney general, says his plan will create more good-paying jobs and give veterans access to skills training in every region of the state.
Beshear said if elected, he would create a ‘Vets to Agritech’ program, helping veterans find jobs in the agritech sector. Beshear’s ‘Helmets to Hardhats’ program looks to find veterans jobs in the construction and building industry.
Beshear says he wants to give veterans educational opportunities, based on the skills they’ve learned while serving in the military. His plan also seeks to help veterans with PTSD and other mental and substance abuse problems to get increased access to Kentucky’s Veterans Treatment Courts.
