The Wolfe County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man killed by troopers Thursday.
The coroner says he is 35-year-old Stephen Sloan.
Preliminary autopsy results on Sloan have not been released.
WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say a man was killed Thursday morning in an officer-involved shooting at a home in Wolfe County.
Investigators say troopers, detectives from the State Police Electronic Crimes Branch and KSP Canine served a search warrant at a home on Blankenship Road.
While talking to people inside the home, a confrontation broke out and a man grabbed a gun, according to KSP.
Investigators say after the man didn’t comply with the troopers loud verbal commands to drop the gun, troopers shot the man, killing him.
No law enforcement officers were hurt.
The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released.
