LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man shot outside a Lexington apartment complex makes it at least the fifth shooting in the city in just a few days.

According to police, a man in his twenties was shot on Foreman Avenue and then taken to UK hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The call came in around 1 pm for shots fired near Newtown Crossing apartments.

Police say a Fayette County school officer spotted the suspect and kept a close eye on him as he went into another apartment on Winny Drive.

Shortly after, Lexington police took over, found the suspect in the apartment, and arrested him.

Police confirm the two people knew each other and are saying this is not a random shooting.

The Lexington police are investigating.
