Perryville FD phone scam in Boyle County

PERRYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Perryville Fire Department is warning people about a phone scam designed to steal your personal information.

According to the PFD, the scammers start with automated calls encouraging you to make a financial donation to help support and buy equipment for your local fire department.

If you continue, you will be relayed to an actual person who asks for your financial information.

The Perryville Fire Department says this is a scam and do not fall for it. Even some members of the department have received these phone calls.

According to the Perryville Fire Department, this group does not support them or any other local fire department.

Department members remind people to never give out personal or financial information to someone you don’t know.
