TRAFFIC ALERT: Part of US 421 in Madison Co. to be closed

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Battlefield Memorial Highway/US 421 in Madison County is scheduled to be closed for about two weeks.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, it will be closed so crews can replace the bridge.

The road will be closed at milepoint 2.50 from approximately 7 a.m. Monday, June 17 to 7 a.m. Monday, July 1st.

Alternate routes include:

From northbound Battlefield Memorial Highway/US 421:

o   motorists can utilize US 421, left to Big Hll Road/KY 21, right to Blue Lick Road/KY 1617, right to KY Highway 1016 to US 421

From southbound Battlefield Memorial Highway/US 421:

o   motorists can utilize US 421, right to KY Highway 1016, left to Blue Lick Road/KY 1617, left to Big Hill Road/KY 21 to US 421
