Flooding continues in Rockcastle and Powell counties

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)-The Brodhead Fire Department says they helped with a water rescue on Highway 1505. They say that torrential rainfall has caused serious flooding in the area.

Brodhead Emergency Management Director, Bryan Bussell, says two women had to be rescued from a trailer off Chesnut Grove Road.

Officials say a dog was rescued without injury during the water rescue.

Storm reports say water was inside six businesses, a church, and city hall. They say six to ten mobile homes were damaged.

Officials always warn people to stay home if you do not have to be out, and if you are out, turn around don’t drown.
