Brodhead Police arrest woman after reportedly finding gun, drugs in car

BRODHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ)- According to Brodhead Police, Chief Travis Davis saw a vehicle swerving Saturday on West Street in Brodhead.

Davis stopped 45-year-old Luevadia Hamlet from Riverview, Michigan.

Officers say Hamlet was under the influence. Davis says she agreed to let him search her vehicle. He claims to have found a semi automatic handgun, a slapjack, a glass pipe, a zip lock style baggie containing a white, crystallized substance believed to be Methamphetamine, and a red container with a white, crystallized substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

Hamlet was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st (agg circumstances), possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine).

According to police, jail staff searched Hamlet and found she had hidden another pipe on her so she faces an additional charge for possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting contraband 1st.
