Vapor leak detected, isolated at Blue Grass Army Depot


RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond reports chemical crews found two GB rockets emitting vapor.

The depot says the emissions were detected by a mobile monitoring laboratory during a routine inspection of a chemical weapons storage igloo on April 23.

According to the depot, detecting, isolating and mitigating vapor emissions are a normal part of Blue Grass Chemical Activity operations.

The Madison County Emergency Management Agency, the Commonwealth of Kentucky Emergency Management and the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection were kept informed during the operation.
