LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man is facing several charges after police say he operated a vehicle under the influence, with two minors inside.
The man arrested is 26-year-old Kendrick Prewitt.
Investigators say they were dispatched to Centre Parkway near Briarwood Apartments on Thursday afternonn in reference to a man operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Police say when officers located the vehicle, they found a baggie that contained 0.9 grams of cocaine in plain sight.
They say there were two minors under the age of seven inside the vehicle that were not properly restrained.
Police say the man admitted to driving while intoxicated.
Prewitt is charged with wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and failure to use child restraint device in the vehicle.
According to court documents, it’s unclear if the two minors inside the vehicle were related directly to Prewitt or not.
